CORE FACTORS THAT LED TO THE SUCCESS OF UNLOCK NAIJA AT 60

Unlock Naija is a closed mega-concert that was held on October 1st 2020 by Tobems Media. The year 2020 has been a tough year for the entire world as Covid-19 came into existence and the world went on lockdown in April. Since then, everyone has been advised to stay at home, and a lot of recreational centres has been shut down for the safety of the people.
Majority of the people since April have been missing out on a lot of fun activities especially those that require social meetings like parting, clubbing, visiting shows, concerts and many more.
Indeed! Covid-19 has taken away our jollification in a type of way, but we hope it’s not here to stay.
Sadly, it is this same year that Nigeria attains the anticipated 60 years of independence.
To ease the stress and encourage Nigerians to break away from the chain of lockdown, we had to put together a world-class celebration that is suited for the new realities. This show was tagged “Unlock Naija At 60”. The mission of this show was to celebrate Nigerians on Independence day in the comfort of their homes with back to back series of entertainment streamed LIVE on HipTV and Tobems Media Social media platforms.
This event was an overall success because all the team members showed up to play their role exceptionally. The event was a very fascinating one as many Nigerians have confessed while the event was going on and after the event.
Overall, the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with 100 percent of participants commenting favourably on the experience.
There are lots of factors that led to the success of this event and few of them are:

1. Venue: The event was held at Madestics studio which is known to be Tobems Media studio. A lot of top events has been done in Madestics studio, few weeks before the event Tecno Camon 16 was launched in the studio which was premiered LIVE on Channels Television. The combination of the lightning and acoustics in this venue will make any event an outstanding one.

2. Video production: Tobems Media is a video production company and this has a huge impact on any event hosted by Tobems Media. This event is one of its kind in the history of Nigeria Independence celebration that’s why the video producers were ready to take it up a notch and give the event their best shot which they did.

3. Series of activities: There was a back to back series of activities which kept the audience glued to their screens. The series of activities included musical performances, dance performances, Comedy, fashion, stage play and many more.
Top celebrities were present at the show for musical performances which had many Nigerians thrilled. Music performances were done by 9ice, CDQ, Avala and other top stars. Saco performed exceptionally at cracking a lot of ribs with his unique sense of humour. What about drama? Tomike alongside ThinTallTony made the experience memorable and DNMT excited the audience with their dance performances. There was also a flashback to the history of fashion evolution with dressing styles from the 60s,70, 80s, 90s till the current date done by models in the event which made the event not only entertaining but also an educative content for Nigerians.

4. Presentation: The host for the event was former Big Brother Naija housemate Seyi Awolowo and TV personalty Nenny B. They both did a great job presenting the activities to the audience. Their sense of humour was a big secret to their outstanding performance. Also, their fashion style took us way back to the olden days to remind Nigerians how we have evolved.

This was a great experience for every member of Tobems Media team and we hope to celebrate Nigeria in more years.
