3 Lessons We Learnt From Unlock Naija At 60

On October 1st in the year 2020, Nigeria turned 60. To celebrate our 60th year of freedom Tobems Media organized a closed mega-concert tagged “Unlock Naija At 60”. The concert took place at Madestics studio which lasted from 7:30 pm till 11:30 pm. This concert was a back to back series of educating and entertaining activities that were premiered LIVE on HipTV and Tobems media social media platforms. There were lots of events such as music performances from top artistes in Nigeria, drama, dance performances, comedy skits, stand up comedy, vox pop and many more which were very engaging and fascinating.
In the course of these events, we learnt a few lessons from Nigerians.

Nigerians love to be entertained: We could testify from our reports that a lot of Nigerians were highly engaged in this concert. There was a massive turnout on that day but, we weren’t surprised because we were getting a lot of traction from our digital marketing campaigns which gave us room to perform exceptionally well.

Virtual concerts are expensive: A virtual concert is unique in its way, and it’s not easy to organize one especially if it’s a LIVE event. We had a tough time getting sponsors for the event and promoting the event. Eventually, the whole process turned out to be a success.

Nigerian youths are creative: Did you miss the event? Wow! The performance from a lot of Nigerian youths was overwhelming. The fashion evolution from the 60s to this era and dance performance by DNMT crew was fascinating.

Overall, the event turned out to be a successful one, and we hope to celebrate Nigeria in more years as we keep evolving.
